Something old, something new...

Well, I suppose it wouldn't be February March without another Flashbacks mix. This is the seventh Flashbacks mix I've put together, and it's evident that dance music styles are changing. Whereas the first several Flashbacks sets consisted mainly of electro house reworks, this one is almost entirely made up of progressive anthems (and a little bit of house, too). Indeed, many of the original tunes I've used here have been used in previous mixes when electro house was big and producers were cranking out 80's and 90's reworks with electro basslines. Perhaps it's getting repetitive now to keep reinterpreting same 80's and 90's songs over and over again, but I still appreciate the transformation of old pop songs into dancefloor-friendly anthems. And everyone seems to appreciate the familiarity when a DJ throws a rework or two into the middle of his or her set.
