The FOAM lives on...

It has now been more than a year since I attended my last FOAM party. In fact, it was the first FOAM-free summer in six years. Despite the initial appeal of it all, the novelty gradually wore off. It is our home-grown FOAM parties I miss most - not only because we worked our asses off to finally make it happen, but because I always enjoyed selecting and mixing the music for those crazy, crazy parties.

There was always something special about a FOAM mix. There was the inevitable combination of the most popular mainstream dance tracks and some major electro bangers, of course, but there was also a good number of fun tracks and 80's/90's reworks that got people dancing and singing along. Some of my favorite FOAM memories involve everyone singing to the electro version of "Summer of '69", and jumping/stomping to Micky Slim's remix of "Jump Around."

FOAM may be dead for now, but the music lives on. When I set out to create my newest mix, I decided to throw together a brand

new 4-hour mix as if I was mixing for another FOAM party. The result is a nice dose of pop, lots of electro, a few really fun throwbacks, & lots and lots of crazy. I'm providing several different download versions - including the entire mix in one file - just in case someone wants to throw a party (or pretend you're at one...). Regardless of what you do with this mix, I hope you enjoy it, and I hope the FOAM still lives in you. :)

All Good Things Come to an End...

Since I know a lot of you have been wanting (and waiting for) this, I'm posting the mix from last weekend's very last Foam Party. For being an extremely last-minute affair, I think it all came together quite nicely. This may be the last 4-hour mix I ever put together, and although it was rushed, I'm fairly happy with it, and I think it definitely contains most of my favorite songs to be released in the past 9 months.

This mix also represents the end of an era. Earlier this month, the Cardinal's infamous foam parties came to an end with the closing of the club. On top of that, Saturday's party is the last one that will ever happen on the deck. With that said, I'm not certain that I'll ever attend another foam party anywhere. If someone is going to step up and offer to throw one, I'll be there. But this may very well be the end for me. We had a good run - a crazy, intense, and exhausting run - but in the end, we did something not many others can claim to have done. We threw the wildest parties imaginable, and nobody who attended will ever forget them. I think that's saying something!

Thanks to everyone who was there and to everyone who helped to make this happen. We did well.
