Forty years ago Sunday, a group of gay men and women fought back against a police raid that took place at the historic Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City. Though not the first time gay men and women had ever fought back, Stonewall became a symbol of the beginning of the fight for equal rights for all. That fight continues today. And though we have a lot to celebrate this year (including securing marriage rights in multiple states over the past several months), the war is far from over. So while you're out celebrating this weekend, let's remember those who have fought before us to get us to where we are today. They deserve our respect, our remembrance, and our gratitude for not choosing the easy way out and instead standing up for what was right.This mix is (quite obviously) a little "gayer" than my others. But I think it's a lot of fun, too, with a lot of 80's and 90's throwbacks, some classic dance floor anthems, and some new stuff too. It's a little out there, and a little over the top, but that's what the festivities are all about, right?
