Pride 2015

Once again, it's been far too long since my last post.  I haven't necessarily given up on mixing, but I'm finding it more difficult (and myself less interested) in finding the time to put something together.  That said, I hadn't even planned on mixing a Pride set this year.  But as pride weekend approached, I suddenly felt inspired to quickly throw something together.  Unfortunately, time wasn't quite on my side, and my perfectionist nature prevented me from finishing this before the weekend.  Now I've spent three weeks occasionally tweaking and fixing it to the point where I'm satisfied.  Better late than never, I hope.

There's not much I need to say about this one...it's pretty straightforward commercial house music you've probably heard before on BPM, in a club, or even your local pop radio station.  But I think it's a fun (and celebratory) mix that's a bit harder-hitting dance club friendly than my previous Pride mixes.  Chalk that up to the ever blurring line between dance and pop music.

The cheering you hear in the beginning was recorded outside of the Supreme Court Building moments after the gay marriage decision was released.  I needed a bit of an intro, and a way to tie this in to Pride, and thought that was an obvious way to do it.  Lots to celebrate this year, for sure.
