The leaves have fallen, the weather has cooled, and ghosts and ghouls are flooding the streets. Halloween has arrived, and what better time is there to drop some serious beats?This mix essentially belongs to two artists - Avicii & the Wideboys - both of whom have three great tracks on this one. Avicii's productions continue to amaze with what is simultaneously a unique & an immediately recognizable sound. He's so good lately, in fact, that mainstream pop artists seem to find it appropriate to shamelessly rip off his music (*ahem* Leona Lewis & Flo Rida).
The Wideboys are a British duo I've enjoyed for years now, but I'm impressed by how much they've evolved recently. Each of their three songs in this mix sounds completely different, incorporating elements of house, pop, lounge, and even dubstep.
There are other highlights here too, of course, including another great mix from eSQUIRE vs OFFBeat, a couple of remixes from DJ's From Mars, and a driving house track from Umek that reminds me of the good times at the Cardinal with Nick Nice. Good stuff.
Download this mix, drop it in the middle of your Halloween party, and I guarantee your peeps will be dancing...unless you're all zombies, that is.
